 It's that difficult second album!

Leadonites Basketball competed in senior men's competition for the first time last season when we played in the GBBA's Gloucestershire Basketball league. It was a successful season with a late season run seeing our men's team secure 3rd place overall and just missing out on 2nd place on the head-to-head record with Cheltenham Hawks, despite beating them in our final match of the season!

Added to their league campaign our men also won their Dexter Dawson Cup group to qualify for the semi-finals where they lost to a Worcester Bears team that went on to achieve the league and cup double for the season. Overall the team finished with a very respectable season playing record of won 18 and lost 8 matches.

For the upcoming 2023/24 season the GBBA have decided to split the league into two divisions and effectively two seasons in one. Due to last season’s final league placing Leadonites will be placed in the higher division, meaning no easy games.

LEADONITES BASKETBALL BACK IN THE JUNIOR NBL

Leadonites Basketball's one and only previous season playing in the Basketball England Junior National Basketball League came in the 2021/22 season when our Class of 2022 finished 6th of 9 teams in the NBL U18 West Midlands Conference. Now we're back!

For the upcoming 2023/24 season 'nites will have both our U18s and U16s playing in their respective Jnr NBL Midlands II Conference leagues. Added to this, each team has also been entered into the age group National Cup competition, and each team starts off in the first round with away ties to negotiate.

More details to follow soon...

MONTHLY TRAINING FEES (for the 2023-24 season)

With court hire and Basketball England costs rising, Leadonites Basketball can no longer meet its financial obligations at the current level of funding. Therefore, we are unfortunately having to raise the cost of the monthly training subs for the 2023/24 season.

-          Year 7 (and younger) will be £20.00/month

-          Year 8 (and older) will be £25.00/month

(Younger siblings remains at £10.00/month)

Please set your standing order to pay into the club’s bank account from 1st September 2023 to 1st May 2024 (9 payments in total). We will bombard you with reminders in the latter half of August.

Match day fees will remain the same as last season.

Note: Even with this increase, and assuming the same approximate number of members paying, the club still needs to raise an additional £1,000.00 to maintain stability and to allow for it to operate the season after next. So, if you have any ideas, then please share them with us.
