It was good to see things worked upon in training being put into effect in the games or at least attempted. However, the perennial favourites of offensive spacing, passing and shooting all need more work.
Also was it great to have so much support from family in the sports hall.
CVL MATCH REPORTS
====================
Leadonites U12s returned to action with three matches at Saturday’s
GLOZBALL U12/U13 CVL with Alfie Fisher making his club debut.
Gloucester Saxons 20
- 16 Leadonites
The Ledbury club dominated the first quarter taking a
10-2 lead with baskets from Archie Allcock, Ben Deards and Ben Lewis. This
prompted Saxons to introduce their first five and despite a score from Samuele
Miccio the hosts recovered to tie the half-time scores at 12-12. Gloucester
then took control of the match scoring the next six points before scores from Ben
Lewis an Adam Dudley narrowed the margin of defeat to 4 points.
Bristol Storm (U13)
Girls 10 – 12 Leadonites
An inexperienced starting five, led by team captain Joe
French, battled their older and taller opponents valiantly but still found
themselves 8-0 down after 4 minutes. The introduction of Miccio, paid dividends
as he scored the next 6 points to limit Storm’s half-time lead to 8-6.
Despite conceding an early basket in the second half
Leadonites started to take a grip of the match and baskets from Ben Deards and
Adam Dudley levelled the match. Late missed Leadonites free-throws left the
match tied 10 points each at the end of regulation time. Leadonites showed the
greater desire in the golden basket overtime and capped off a close exciting
match with the winning score when Archie Allcock made a lay-up.
Worcester Wolves
10 – 4 Leadonites
After the high reached against Storm this was the match
that got away. Early scores from Adam Dudley and Ben Deards gave Leadonites a
4-0 lead before being pegged back to 4-4 at half-time. Despite the greater
possession for Leadonites a combination of poor substitution decisions from the
Leadonites coach and missed scoring opportunities allowed Wolves to ease to a
comfortable victory.
