Leadonites on the coaching pathway

Last Sunday (12th November) three volunteers from Leadonites Basketball attended the coaching course put on by the Gloucestershire School of Basketball at GlosCol by Director of Basketball Danny James and assisted by Joe Grainger. Danny is an excellent coach tutor and each and every Leadonites coach has gained their qualifications under his tutelage.

The three course attendees are...
Duncan Rudge
Duncan completed his Basketball England (BE) Level 1 course last year and became the head coach for Leadonites Cubs/U12s this season. Taking the BE Level 2 course is the logical step for Duncan having now coached the Cubs players in more than ten matches starting last season. Duncan has two sons training with the club.
Daniela Long
Dani only arrived at Leadonites at the start of this season when she brought one of her children along to join the Cubs training session. Dani is also taking the BE Level 2 course based on her basketball background of having played for many years back in her native Czech Republic. She will assist Duncan with our U12s set up this season and transition with those players when they step up to play in next season's YBL U13s.
Kayleigh Edwards
Kayleigh is one of the Leadonites Originals having played in the very first match played by any age group team when the inaugural season's U17s team played away at the then Worcestershire Men's Regular League Season champions, Malvern Hills Buzzards in October 2015. That match also made Kayleigh the first girl to represent the club and successful completion of the BE Level 1 course will see her become the first Leadonites player to transition to becoming a coach. Not bad for a 17 year old!
